NIGHT UNBOUND — Cover Reveal & Excerpt

Happy Friday!  In lieu of my usual Favorite Quote Friday post, I have a surprise for you:

Now Available for Pre-Order at

The cover of Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5!  Woohoo!  Zach and Lisette's story will be released on September 2, 2014.  I can't wait!  So I thought I would give you a teaser, too.  I'll just preface it by saying it takes place at David's home, the hub of the Immortal Guardians world in North Carolina. :-)

"Temptation may lead to betrayal—or redemption . . ."

Lisette called good night to the room in general and left through the front door.

Thankfully, no one followed.

When she reached her busa, she studied the front of the house carefully to ensure no one peered out any of the windows.

Nothing and no one.   Good.

She cast a glance up at the roof and, damn it, there he was!

Perched in his usual spot on the roof, Zach tossed her a jaunty wave.    Moonlight glinted on his beautiful wings (now healed) and silky hair.

Lisette clamped her lips shut and glared up at him as fury rushed through her.   Pointing a stiff index finger at him, she then jerked a thumb over her shoulder, telling him without words to get the hell out of there and follow her.

A grin split his face.

Unbelievable.

Rising, he offered her a courtly bow and leapt into the sky.

Favorite Quote Friday #122

Happy Friday!  I have some fun news to share.  I'll be writing another novella this year that will appear in an anthology slated for release in 2015.  One of the other authors who will contribute a story is Alexandra Ivy, a long-time favorite of mine, so I'm very happy.  :-)  Mine will most likely be an Immortal Guardians novella.  One has been rambling around in my head for some time now, but I haven't gotten started on it yet.  I'll keep you posted.

Last Friday, I was distracted by Valentine's Day and a Facebook contest, among other things, so I didn't come across this, courtesy of Nook, until a couple of days later.  I thought it was very cool, though, and wanted to share it with you.  I already mentioned that Alexandra Ivy is one of my favorite authors.  Well, Hannah Howell is, too.  I've enjoyed her books for years.  So it is a thrill to see my book and name featured alongside theirs.  :-)

Tynga's Reviews has given my Immortal Guardians books some great reviews recently.  Here are a couple of snippets:

"NIGHT REIGNS is as much about Ami’s sexual awakening as it is about Marcus’ heart opening up again. Their relationship is actually very sweet and I really enjoyed watching them fall for each other. There’s something very innocent about parts of their romance, even though the sexy stuff is pretty steamy. There’s a really nice blend of sexy and sweet in NIGHT REIGNS and it made for a great story."

"Gosh, I love this series. Each installment is more exciting and PHANTOM SHADOWS, the third book, is a thrilling mix of romance, action, and intrigue . . . Duvall is a very talented writer who has crafted an intriguing world and characters. I get excited every time I see a new book on the shelves. I’d definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for great paranormal romance."

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I thought I would provide you with another narrative quote from Darkness Rises, Immortal Guardians Book 4:

Étienne stopped short and looked toward the bedroom, then the kitchen, his head tilted as though he were listening to something.

Krysta remained quiet, but heard nothing save her heart slamming against her ribs.

Have a wonderful weekend!  I hope those of you who have been inundated with snow will see warm temperatures soon!

Favorite Quote Friday #121

Happy Valentine's Day!!!  I am SO ready for this weekend.  :-)  It's been a week full of ups and downs.  And the biggest up was hearing that my editor thought the Night Unbound edits I turned in last week were "perfect."  Woohoo!!

I also found out that Night Unbound (September 2, 2014) is now available for pre-order in paperback at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  The ebooks will be available for pre-order closer to the release date.  I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.  :-)

I found some wonderful Immortal Guardians reviews and thought I'd share a few with you.

The Wormhole gave Darkness Dawns a fabulous review.  Here's a snippet:

"Holy Wow!  I truly enjoyed this book.  The characters - all of them - are wonderfully created and the story is excellent . . . I am solidly hooked and can't wait to get started on the next book in the series."
You can read the full review HERE.

The Geeky Blogger's Book Blog gave the Darkness Rises audiobook a lovely review.  Here's a taste:

"I have been WAITING for Darkness Rises for a LONG time! Pretty much the second I finished Phantom Shadows I was chomping at the bit to get a hold of this book. I was not disappointed. . . Krysta and Etienne had an amazing connection!"

You can find the full review HERE.

Tempting Reads gave Darkness Rises, Immortal Guardians Book 4, a fantastic review, too.  Here's a peak:

"Just when I think I know what’s going on in this series, Duvall shakes things up.  The author has created a unique world with her Guardians; even better she adds new life to the vampire trope, leaving me awed and highly entertained."

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Since today is Valentine's Day and love is in the air, I thought I'd give you a romantic quote from Darkness Rises.  Here's a little taste of Étienne and Krysta's first kiss:

----------------------------------------
He cupped her face in his large hands, heard her breath catch, her heartbeat pick up its pace just as his own did.  Heat rushed through him at the simple touch.  “You saved my life tonight,” he whispered.

Reaching up, she curled her small, soft hands around his wrists.

Étienne held his breath, waiting for her to pull his hands away.  When she didn’t . . .

“Thank you,” he said.

As she nodded, he dipped his head and pressed his lips to hers.

* * *

Fire licked its way through Krysta’s veins at the soft contact.  Étienne caressed her cheeks as his silky smooth, surprisingly warm lips brushed hers.

What am I doing?

His tongue stroked her lips, tempting her into parting them.

What the hell am I doing? she repeated just before he deepened the kiss and she stopped thinking.

Her heart pounded in her chest, thudding against her ribs so determinedly she thought Étienne must feel it.

If he didn’t before, he did then as he moved forward, crowding her against the counter and pressing his large, muscular body into hers.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #120

Happy Friday!  How was your week?  Mine was both busy and productive.  :-)

I'm very pleased to say my editor really liked Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5.  Woohoo!  I went over edits this week and enjoyed reading back through Zach and Lisette's story.  I can't wait to start posting favorite quotes from it!  My awesome Street Team has already seen a teaser.  ;-)

Speaking of my Street Team, I also started putting together another box of goodies for them.  So far it includes books for exclusive monthly contests and over 2500 bookmarks, trading cards, and postcards.  (This box is heavy!)  I'll finish getting everything together this weekend and ship it off to my fabulous street managers next week.  :-)

Darkness Rises, Immortal Guardians Book 4, just received a great review from Fresh Fiction.  Heres's a snippet:

"DARKNESS RISES is a fascinating, fast paced, action packed book with just the right amount of tension, sexual and otherwise that will keep the pages turning . . . This is the first of author Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians I have read but you can bet I will be getting the past books and looking forward to the new ones that must come out."

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Since Zach and Lisette have lingered in my thoughts all week, I thought I would give you a quote from Darkness Rises that features them:

He scanned the dark scenery around him, looking for the culprit, and belatedly heard the heartbeat behind him that his thoughts had drowned out.

Casually, he turned.  His own heart gave a weird little skip.  Lisette, the French immortal, crouched there, her lovely face expressionless.

Have a wonderful weekend!
