It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I've chosen a narrative quote from Darkness Rises , Immortal Guardians Book 4:

Étienne drew his katanas as the vampires flowed into the alley behind her like a black tide.  Their thoughts — a writhing mass of madness, violence, and anticipation — struck him like poisoned arrows.

Did I mention Étienne, the hero, is telepathic?  :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #113

Happy Friday!  I hope you're all enjoying the holiday season!

I have awesome news!  I finished Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5, and turned it in to my editor.  Woooooooohooo!  I loved writing Zach and Lisette's story!  So much happens in it!  For the Seth lovers out there, you'll see a lot more of him in this one and get an interesting look into his life.  ;-)

I also just found out that Night Unbound is already available for pre-order in paperback on Amazon!  And the release date is a month sooner that I expected!  The new release date is September 2, 2014.  I'm so excited!  It will be available in ebook format, but that usually takes a few months longer to become available for pre-order.  I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.  :-)

I don't know if you're like me and love giving books to friends and family members, but if you are . . .

Looking for a gift for the paranormal romance lover in your life?  Heat up their holidays with my Immortal Guardians!  :-)  All of the books are available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook formats:  AmazonBarnes and NobleAudibleiBooks

Did I mention that Étienne and Krysta, hero and heroine of Darkness Rises, were nominated for Hottest Couple in the Grave Tells Readers Choice Awards!  Yay!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I've chosen a snippet from Darkness Rises, Immortal Guardians Book 4, that features Étienne and Krysta.  I'll preface it by mentioning that Étienne is telepathic.  :-)

Fire licked through Krysta's veins as she locked her arms around his neck.  Her heart pounded a rapid beat as he slid his hands up her rib cage, his thumbs nearing her tingling breasts.

He murmured something in French in her mind.

Say it in English, she reminded him.

How you tempt me.

Good, because he tempted the hell out of her.

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I thought I would give you a mini-excerpt of Darkness Rises, Immortal Guardians Book 4.  If you're new to my series, you should know that two different paranormal beings can be found in it:  psychotic vampires and the powerful immortal warriors who hunt them.

Once the victim of a vicious vampire attack, Krysta Linz, the heroine in Darkness Rises, has dedicated her life to slaying every blood-sucking vampire she can find . . . and does such a fantastic job of it that her vampire hunting activities bring her to the attention of Immortal Guardian Étienne d’Alençon.  Étienne has always admired strong women.  So, when he sees Krysta (a mere mortal) take on four vampires by herself, he is instantly fascinated.  All he has to do now is convince Krysta that not everyone with fangs and glowing eyes is the enemy.

Rising, he strode into her room and circled the bed.  “I’m surprised you trust me enough to sleep beside me.”

“To be honest, I am, too.  You really aren’t going to bite me?”

“No.”  He settled beside her on top of the covers.

“Any plans to cop a feel?”

Her scent enveloped him as he turned his head to stare at her.  “Would you mind if I did?”

“I’m still considering that one.”

Yes.  This was definitely a bad idea.

“What is it about you that makes me want to forget what you are,” she asked softly, “that makes me believe you are what you are and not one of the vampires I hate so much?”

“I don’t know.  Perhaps the same thing about you that makes me want to believe you won’t drive a stake through my heart or chop off my head as soon as I doze off.”

Curling onto her side to face him, she raised one hand and drew delicate fingers down his cheek as her gaze roved his face.  “Truce?”

“Truce.”

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Today I thought I would give you a narrative quote from Darkness Rises told from the hero's point of view:

Her shoulder pressed against his arm.  Her scent enveloped him, mingling with the chicken sandwiches Cam had made them.  Her mere presence provided a balm he hadn’t realized he had needed.  Calming.  Comforting.  Dispelling the emptiness inside him.

I love Étienne and Krysta together.   And, since I'm writing a series, I love that I didn't have to say goodbye to them at the end of their book.  You'll be seeing them again in Night Unbound.  :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Seth has been on my mind a lot lately as I work on Night Unbound, Book 5 in my Immortal Guardians series, because he plays a substantial role in it.  So, for today's selection, I chose a quote from Darkness Rises that features Seth (the eldest immortal), David (the 2nd eldest), and Chris Reordon (the human who runs the East Coast division of the human network that aids immortals):

“I don’t know anything about that,” Seth murmured.  “I don’t have time to explore crap on the internet.”

David nodded.  “And I’d rather read a good book when I find a few free minutes.”

“Admit it,” Chris said.  “You’re both just a couple of old farts who are technologically challenged.”

“True.”

“Admitted without shame.”

Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #109

Happy Friday!  I hope you had a great week!

I've been working on Night Unbound and haven't been spending as much time online lately.  (I'm loving Zach and Lisette together.)  :-)  But I do have some news to share.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I thought I would give you another peek into the pages of Darkness Rises, the fourth book in my Immortal Guardians series (and an RT Reviewers' Choice Award for Best Vampire Romance Nominee).  The following conversation takes place between Krysta, the heroine, and Étienne, the hero:

"Say something else in French," she requested.

A series of lilting indecipherable words flowed smoothly from his tongue.

"What did you say?" she asked curiously.

"Something I can't repeat without you either blushing furiously or striking me."

"Was it naughty?" she asked with a smile.

He smile turned wicked.  "Very naughty."

Have a fantastic weekend!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I've chosen a quote from Darkness Rises that is spoken by the heroine's brother:

“Are you saying the vampire in the alley who was dressed like Johnny Cash killed him?”
~ Sean ~

For those of you who have no idea who Johnny Cash was, here's one of his album covers:

Favorite Quote Friday #107

Happy Friday!  How was your week?  I've been getting prize packages together and mailing them off to winners now that my Darkness Rises Blog Tour has wrapped.

Packages from this latest batch are en route to several states here in the U.S., as well as Australia, the UK, Portugal, Indonesia, and Sweden and contain prizes ranging from a book and swag to an Immortal Guardians tote bag.  :-)

Look what arrived!  Woohoo!

My author copies of both the paperback and the audiobook.

I need to spend less time online for a bit so I can get more writing done on Night Unbound (Book 5).  But, once I'm happy with the progress I'm making, I'll have to give away some copies in contests.  :-)

Speaking of contests . . .  Thank you, everyone who joined me for the Hot Halloween Heroes Giveaway Hop!  The winner of a signed copy of Darkness Rises + Immortal Guardians swag is:

Cherry!

Congratulations!
I've already emailed her.  ;-)

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Today I thought I would give you another peek into the pages of Darkness Rises.  This time, however, I thought I'd let you see a little bit of what Sarah and Roland are up to in it.  For those who are new to my Immortal Guardians series, Roland (a notoriously antisocial immortal) and Sarah were the hero and heroine of Darkness Dawns, Book 1.  The two of them play a rather interesting role in Darkness Rises, Book 4.  ;-)

Sarah stood sentinel beside her husband and frowned at their audience.  “You see?  I told you he has a big heart.  He’s been watching over them all this time.”

“Keeping track isn’t the same as watching over them,” Roland murmured.

Sarah elbowed him.  “Give me my moment, honey.  I’m defending you.”

I love these two together.  ;-)

Have a wonderful weekend!
