Awaken the Darkness Cover Reveal

Hi, all! I have very exciting news to share with you. Awaken the Darkness is Now Available for Pre-Order! Woohoo! This is the book I told you I've been wanting to write for quite a while. It began as a novella, but ended up coming in at 305 manuscript pages. So I'm calling this one Immortal Guardians Book 8 instead of Book 7.5 :-)

Coming July 10, 2018

Return to the "utterly addictive" (RT Book Reviews), "fast-paced and humorous" (Publishers Weekly) world of New York Times bestselling author Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians.

He awakens encapsulated in dirt with no knowledge of how he came to be there. Riddled with injuries, he can remember neither his past nor who he is. Nor can he remember what he is. But surely no mortal man could survive being buried deep beneath the earth. All he knows with certainty is that the soothing voice and presence of the woman moving around above enables him to endure the agony of his wounds. And he will do whatever it takes to be with her.

When Susan first sees the old two-story house for sale, such warmth and longing fill her that—against all reason—she makes an offer. It will take years of hard work and money she frankly doesn’t have to fix up the place. So she can’t explain why she bought it. She also can’t explain what compels her to spend hours one night, digging in the basement until she unearths a man. A man who still lives and breathes despite having been buried alive. A man whose intense brown eyes glow amber with pain, declaring him far more than ordinary. Susan knows she should keep her distance. He has no memory and possesses gifts that would make most fear him. But as the two work together to unravel the mystery of his past, she finds herself drawn in by his teasing nature and tender touch. So much so that she loses her heart to him even as they find themselves hunted by unknown enemies who are ruthless in their quest to capture them.

If you haven't guessed yet, this is Stanislav's book. If I haven't already mentioned it, my editor said, "I love, love, loved this story." I hope you will, too. :-) Thank you, everyone who has asked me for Stan’s story and who has fervently hoped his role in my Immortal Guardians family has not come to an end. I’ve wanted to tell his tale ever since I wrote Night Unbound but had to wait for the right time. When I released Blade of Darkness, Stanislav leapt forward and informed me that the time had come.

The Awaken the Darkness paperback and audiobook will release on the same day as the ebook: July 10, 2018. I'll post the pre-order links for these as soon as I have them. Tantor Audio is producing the audiobook and has already begun recording it. Kirsten Potter is narrating.

If this is your first time hearing about my Immortal Guardians series, don't worry. All of the novels and novellas can be read as stand-alone stories. You'll know more about the secondary characters if you read the books in order, but you won't be lost if Awaken the Darkness is the first one you read. :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Return to the "utterly addictive" (RT Book Reviews) world of New York Times bestselling author Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians.

Dana Pembroke has been able to glimpse the future of those she touches for as long as she can remember. But she never saw Aidan coming. When the tall, dark Celt with the charming grin yet world-weary eyes walks through her door, the future she sees for him is one full of violence, danger, deception... and passion. Because amidst the terrifying battles that unfold in her visions, she also sees herself in Aidan's arms and in his bed. Dana knows she should keep her distance, but the tender moments and laughter they share entice her even as she finds herself thrust into a world of vampires, immortals, and other preternatural beings.

Immortal Guardian Aidan O'Byrne has been hunting and slaying psychotic vampires for nearly three thousand years, so visions of bloody battles don't trouble him. The battles Dana foresees, however, show Aidan's brethren turning against him, so he can't help but feel alarmed. While he spends as much time as he can with Dana, struggling to decipher her dire predictions, Aidan finds himself utterly smitten. Hope rises that he has finally found a woman who can banish the darkness and loneliness that plague him. But when vampires begin targeting Dana and a powerful enemy spawns chaos, will fate grant them time to find happiness together?

The paperback and audiobook will release the same day as the e-book.  I'll post the pre-order links for those as soon as I have them.  The audiobook will be narrated by Kirsten Potter.  Woohoo!!

I meant to tell you earlier that my editor said she loved Aidan and Dana together and thought Blade of Darkness was a great story.  I just didn't have a chance.  :-)  I hope you're as excited about the upcoming release as I am.  I've been wanting to give Aidan a HEA ever since I wrote the "lotto" scene in Night Unbound.

If this is your first time hearing about my Immortal Guardians series, don't worry.  All of the novels and novellas can be read as stand-alones.  You'll know more about the secondary characters if you read them in order, but you won't be lost if Blade of Darkness is the first one you read.  :-)

Have a wonderful week!

Cover Reveal and Excerpt—Rendezvous With Yesterday

Happy Friday!  I'm very excited to share with you the cover and blurb of my next release—Rendezvous With Yesterday, The Gifted Ones Book 2.

Coming October 17, 2016
Special Pre-Order eBook Price—$4.99 (USD)
Pre-Order Today!
Modern-day bounty hunter Bethany Bennett helps her brother track two fugitives to a forest outside of Houston, Texas.  But what should have been a routine apprehension of two bail skippers spirals out of control and ends in violence.  After Beth and her brother are both seriously injured, a mysterious figure suddenly looms over her.  And, when the smoke clears, Beth finds herself not only in another place, but in another time.
As Lord Robert, Earl of Fosterly, attempts to identify and track down the nameless enemy who has been plaguing his lands and people with violence, the most peculiar woman stumbles into his path.  Small, vulnerable, yet possessed of a bold, fiery spirit and wicked sense of humor, she persists in dubbing Robert and his men members of something called a medieval reenactment group . . . until she sees his castle and labels herself mad.  It seems bounty hunter Bethany Bennett has come to him from the future, bringing with her laughter and chaos, swiftly winning the hearts of his people and inspiring within him a love he thought he would never experience again.  But when Robert discovers a way for her to return to her time, will the love they share be enough to keep them together?
I've temporarily discounted the eBook price.  During the Pre-Order period and the first week of Rendezvous With Yesterday's release, you can purchase it for $4.99.  After that, it will return to the regular price of $5.99.  It will be available in iBooks closer to the release date.

Rendezvous With Yesterday will be available in print, but not until the release date—October 17th.  The Rendezvous With Yesterday Audiobook will be narrated by the very talented Kirsten Potter and will release the same day as the eBook and paperback.  It will be available on Audible.  It just hasn't gone up for pre-order there yet.  I'll let you know when it does.  :-)

I'll be celebrating over on My Facebook Page this weekend with an Amazon Gift Card giveaway.  I hope you'll join me.  :-)

Since this is also Favorite Quote Friday, I thought I would give you a sneak peek into the pages of Rendezvous With Yesterday by letting you glimpse Robert and Bethany through the eyes of Robert's brother Dillon (hero of A Sorceress of His Own):
________________________________

Dillon rose alongside Robert and watched his brother descend the stairs and stroll forward.

At once, Lady Bethany broke away from the women, skipped toward him and launched herself into his arms.  Bright, tinkling laughter escaped her as Robert spun her around in a tight circle ere he allowed her feet to touch the ground.  Ducking his head, Robert spoke something into her ear that Dillon was too far away to hear.  Lady Bethany laughed and locked her arms around his neck, leaning her body fully into his.

Dillon glanced around to gauge the response of the other occupants of Fosterly’s bailey.  ’Twas a highly improper embrace the unwed couple shared so openly.  Yet most onlookers either smiled indulgently or paid no attention, as though ’twas a common occurrence.

Stunned, he looked back in time to see Lady Bethany reach up, clasp a fistful of hair atop Robert’s head, and playfully rock his head from side to side.  Robert grinned and pressed his forehead to hers.  Her hand drifted down, stroked his cheek as he rubbed noses with her.  Their words grew quieter as he drew her even closer, lifted her onto her toes, then kissed her.  Deeply.  Thoroughly.  One hand drifting down her back and coming dangerously close to her bottom.  Pulling her even tighter against him.

Dillon could practically feel the heat from where he stood as the couple’s passion flared.

And still those in the bailey paid them no heed.

Dillon looked at Michael, who appeared to be struggling not to laugh at the shock that must be written across his face.

“They tend to forget the rest of us when they are in each other’s presence.”

Dillon could not remember the last time he had been so confounded.

Cover Reveal & Favorite Quote Friday

Happy Friday!  I have something exciting to share with you:

The cover of Phantom Embrace!  Woohoo!!  If this is your first time hearing about it, Phantom Embrace is the Immortal Guardians novella I wrote for the On the Hunt anthology.  It will be released as a solo novella on June 28, 2016, tells Yuri's story, and is now available for pre-order.  I've been so pleased by the reviews it has received, so I hope you'll pre-order a copy if you haven't read it yet.  It's only $1.99!  :-)

I had to drop offline for a bit.  And when I came back, I was very happy to discover that Shadows Strike made several Top 10 and Best Books of 2015 lists:

I had such fun writing Ethan and Heather's story.  I'm glad so many readers are enjoying it.  Thank you so much!

I also made Amorous Reads Top 10 New-To-Me Authors of 2015 list with my Immortal Guardians series.  :-)

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  I've been getting a lot of requests for Aidan's story, so I thought today I would give you a mini-excerpt from Shadows Strike that features him.  For those who haven't read Night Unbound or Shadows Strike, Aidan is a nearly 3,000-year-old immortal who is searching for a woman who can love him and banish his loneliness.  :-)
_______________________________

Seth closed his eyes and did a quick mental search for Aidan. Once he found him, Seth touched Bastien’s and Cliff’s shoulders and teleported them to the Celt’s side.

Aidan smiled at them, a tire iron held in one hand. “I thought I felt a disturbance in the force.”

Cliff laughed.

Bastien smiled.

Seth shook his head. “What have you been doing?”

Aidan held up the tire iron. “Helping a lovely woman change a flat tire.”

Bastien arched a brow. “A lovely gifted one?”

“As it happens, yes.”

Seth sighed. “Did you flatten her tire, Aidan?”

“Yes, I did,” the nearly three-thousand-year-old immortal admitted without remorse.

I'll be spending this weekend with Robert, Bethany, and a teenaged Marcus (Rendezvous With Yesterday).  I hope you'll have a fun weekend, too!

Since the day Lord Dillon earned his spurs, rumors of his savagery on the battlefield have preceded him into every room, stilling tongues and sparking fear.  Weary of battle, he wishes only to find a woman he can wed who will approach him not with fear, but with the tenderness that has been absent from his life for so long.  Yet only the wisewoman seems invariably at ease in his presence.  Perhaps because she garners the same fear in others that he does himself.

For seven years, Alyssa has been by Lord Dillon’s side, counseling him from the shadows, healing him with her hands, and staving off the worst of his loneliness while his fearsome reputation keeps others at bay.  Blessed—or cursed—with gifts that label her a sorceress, she is forced to conceal her youth and the love she harbors for him beneath umbral robes that lead Dillon and his people to believe she is the same aged wisewoman who served his father.

All is revealed, however, and passions flare when an enemy threatens Dillon’s life and Alyssa sacrifices everything to save him.  When Dillon discovers that the wisewoman is far from elderly, he is instantly entranced.  And, as he and Alyssa work together to defeat an enemy bent on destroying them both, Dillon will risk anything—even the wrath of his king—to be with her.

Isn't the cover beautiful?  I love it!

One of the questions I'm asked most often as a writer is what inspired my Immortal Guardians series.  Well, the easy answer is:  this book, A Sorceress of His Own.  There were, of course, other sources of inspiration:  a documentary on the water bear, research into possible explanations for the emergence of vampire folklore, and a biography of King George, to name a few.  But, long before Sarah Bingham rescued Roland Warbrook with her trusty shovel in Darkness Dawns, I wrote A Sorceress of His Own . . . and the gifted ones were born.
Alyssa, the heroine of A Sorceress of His Own, was the first gifted one I created.  And she, along with Seth, Roland and Marcus—all of whom appear in this book—fired my imagination and inspired many of the what ifs that drove me to create my Immortal Guardians.  I am so incredibly excited to bring you Alyssa’s story now. I hope you will enjoy it.  And, for those who have read my Immortal Guardians books, I hope you will enjoy seeing Marcus as a mortal teenaged squire.  You'll meet Bethany—the woman he loved for eight hundred years–in the sequel.  ;-)

This book WILL also be available both on Nook and in print.  And, to celebrate the launch of the new series, I've placed the books on sale—half price—for a limited time, so make sure you pre-order a copy to lock in the low price!  :-)

I plan to celebrate A Sorceress of His Own going up for pre-order by holding a giveaway this weekend over on Facebook.  I'm thinking . . . maybe a gift card?

So drop by and join the fun!  And congratulations to the ladies who won my latest IG swag pack giveaways on Facebook and on tsu!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Cover Reveal, News, and #Giveaway!

Happy Friday!  I have a lot of news to share with you today!  I'll start with this:

I have a cover and blurb for Shadows Strike, Immortal Guardians Book 6!!

The Immortal Guardians protect the innocent in secret. Sometimes the secret gets out...

U.S. law enforcement agent Heather Lane can read minds. But not the future. The dream of battle and blood that recurs every night must be a fluke, some obscure terror from her own mind. What its significance might be, she can’t guess: an attack from seven psychotic vampires at once, only separated from nightmare by an eighth very different immortal. A handsome, brave man fighting at her side, a man she misses when she wakes.

Then the dream comes true. Heather is flung into a war between predators and protectors of humanity, the man from her dreams beside her again. Except now that she’s awake, she isn’t sure she can trust Ethan, or the shadow organization he represents. The U.S. military doesn’t trust either of them. But against an onslaught of evil like the one that’s coming, it will take everything they have just to survive...

What do you think?  It will be released on August 25, 2015, and is now available for Pre-Order at the following websites in paperback and/or ebook format:

Amazon • Kindle • iTunes • Kobo  BAM!

——— Cover Reveal ———

I have more exciting news!  In Still Darkness, the Immortal Guardians novella that tells Richart and Jenna's story and was originally published in the Predatory anthology, will be released as a solo ebook in August!  Yay!!!  Don't you just love that cover?  :-)  If this is your first time hearing of it and you're wondering where it falls in the series, In Still Darkness is Book 3.5, but can easily be read as a stand-alone novella.  Here's the blurb:

It’s not the first time Immortal Guardian Richart d’Alençon has saved a human life from eternal damnation. Usually, he moves on, a nameless savior like a ghost in the night. But this time he can’t seem to forget the woman who rewarded him with a sensuous kiss after he rescued her from a trio of vampires. While Richart knows that loving a human can only bring trouble, the taste of forbidden lust is too great to resist…

Jenna never imagined she’d end up a single mom working overtime to put her son through school. But she might have daydreamed once that a devastatingly gorgeous Frenchman would sweep her off her feet. Now that a package of tall, dark, and handsome seems intent on doing just that, doctors are telling her she may not have long to live. But Richart is telling her just the opposite. All she has to do is abandon her humanity…

I'll let you know as soon as it becomes available for Pre-Order.  :-)

In case you missed it, I was featured in the "BTS Goes Hollywood" section of the May/June issue of BTS Book Reviews Magazine.  You'll find my interview on pages 168-169, along with two video excerpts of Darkness Rises.  :-)

Today is also the last day you can enter to win an Amazon Gift Card, a signed copy of Darkness Rises + Immortal Guardians swag, and more in the Covergasm Blog Giveaway Hop.  You can find all of the details and enter to win HERE.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  To celebrate the cool cover and blurb reveal, I thought I would choose a quote from In Still Darkness for today's selection.
Richart could do nothing to free her until the vampire released her.  If he struck now, the vamp could break her neck.
So he simply cleared his throat.
The vampires all looked in his direction.
"Where the hell did you come from?" one spouted and shifted, giving Richart a clearer view of the captive.
The woman turned her head to meet Richart's gaze.
And the oddest little tingle danced through his chest.
She was pretty, with fiery red hair that fell just beneath her shoulders, pale freckled skin, and wide hazel eyes that met and held his, full of both hope and fear.
I had to go back and check something in Richart and Jenna's story earlier this week while working on Book 6 and ended up reading the whole thing again from beginning to end.  I love their story, in part because you rarely see powerful paranormal warriors try to date or carry on a normal courtship with a mortal woman.  :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!
