It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I've chosen a narrative quote from my recent release Shadows Strike.  For those who aren't familiar with it, Heather is the mortal heroine and Ethan is the immortal hero.
Heather felt honored to sit at a table with such powerful immortal warriors.  It seemed so surreal, like sitting down to chat with a bunch of superheroes, only these guys—and gals—didn't wear colorful tights.  They wore black to conceal the blood they would spill later in the night when they hunted.
A sobering thought.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #143

Happy Friday!  What an exciting week!  The countdown has begun!  Only 4 days to go before Night Unbound is released!  Woohooo!!!!  I have so much to share with you!

The reviews are steadily rolling in, and I could not be more pleased!  Here are some more of my favorite snippets:

“When I read Duvall's first work, I knew this was going to be a brilliant series. Duvall's storytelling is simply spellbinding, sucking you in and keeping you invested. I highly recommend any paranormal romance reader to check out the Immortal Guardian series, you won't be disappointed.”
—Tome Tender

“Wow! Where do I start? The chemistry between all the characters is spot-on. The author effortlessly makes you believe they have lived and battled together for centuries with their fierce loyalty and easy banter. They made me laugh out loud and yes, shed tears. I loved every minute of it.”
—Reading in Pajamas

“I love the Immortal Guardians! Zach and Lisette are now my second favorite characters just after Bastian and Melanie. I re-read this story after I finished. I just didn’t want to let them go.”
—eBookObsessed

“A paranormal must have of epic proportions. I’ve been smitten with Dianne’s characters and her Immortal Guardian world since the first book in the series, but this story took everything I like about it and super-sized it.  Night Unbound took my heart through the emotional paces. From hilarity . . .  To blazing sensuality that turned my blood to molten lava . . . To delightful camaraderie . . . To swoon worthy and heart achingly lovely moments.”
—TJ Loves to Read

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  In anticipation of next week's release, I thought I would give you a brief excerpt of Night Unbound:
She smiled and grabbed the vampires’ sticky clothing.
“What?” Zach asked as he helped.
“Nothing.  It’s just . . . ”  She straightened.  “I like that you let me be me,” she said with a shrug.  “I like that you think I’m strong.”
“You are strong.”
“But you also appreciate my femininity.”
“I more than appreciate it,” he said with a leer.
She grinned.  “Yet you aren’t overprotective like my brothers and Seth, all of whom can drive me up the wall sometimes.”
“Oh, but I am.  I cringe every time a battle arises.  And my inner Neanderthal awakens whenever I think you’re in danger.”
“Your inner Neanderthal?”
He nodded.  “I believe you met him when I ordered you to never defy me again.”
She winked.  “Your inner Neanderthal gave me multiple orgasms.”
A huge thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered Night Unbound.  I can't wait to hear what you think of Zach and Lisette's story.  I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.  :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #112

Happy Friday!  I've been working hard on Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5, and will be turning it in soon.  So excited!  Once I do, I'll probably celebrate with some contests either here or on Facebook.  Until then . . .

There's still time to enter to WIN my Holiday Contest over at Fresh Fiction.  The prize is a signed copy of Phantom Shadows (Book 3), an Immortal Guardians tote bag, a Darkness Rises keychain, an Immortal Guardians pen, a magnet, and lots of other swag.  The contest ends December 16th.  You can enter HERE.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I thought I would give you a mini-excerpt of Darkness Rises, Immortal Guardians Book 4.  If you're new to my series, you should know that two different paranormal beings can be found in it:  psychotic vampires and the powerful immortal warriors who hunt them.

Once the victim of a vicious vampire attack, Krysta Linz, the heroine in Darkness Rises, has dedicated her life to slaying every blood-sucking vampire she can find . . . and does such a fantastic job of it that her vampire hunting activities bring her to the attention of Immortal Guardian Étienne d’Alençon.  Étienne has always admired strong women.  So, when he sees Krysta (a mere mortal) take on four vampires by herself, he is instantly fascinated.  All he has to do now is convince Krysta that not everyone with fangs and glowing eyes is the enemy.

Rising, he strode into her room and circled the bed.  “I’m surprised you trust me enough to sleep beside me.”

“To be honest, I am, too.  You really aren’t going to bite me?”

“No.”  He settled beside her on top of the covers.

“Any plans to cop a feel?”

Her scent enveloped him as he turned his head to stare at her.  “Would you mind if I did?”

“I’m still considering that one.”

Yes.  This was definitely a bad idea.

“What is it about you that makes me want to forget what you are,” she asked softly, “that makes me believe you are what you are and not one of the vampires I hate so much?”

“I don’t know.  Perhaps the same thing about you that makes me want to believe you won’t drive a stake through my heart or chop off my head as soon as I doze off.”

Curling onto her side to face him, she raised one hand and drew delicate fingers down his cheek as her gaze roved his face.  “Truce?”

“Truce.”

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Seth has been on my mind a lot lately as I work on Night Unbound, Book 5 in my Immortal Guardians series, because he plays a substantial role in it.  So, for today's selection, I chose a quote from Darkness Rises that features Seth (the eldest immortal), David (the 2nd eldest), and Chris Reordon (the human who runs the East Coast division of the human network that aids immortals):

“I don’t know anything about that,” Seth murmured.  “I don’t have time to explore crap on the internet.”

David nodded.  “And I’d rather read a good book when I find a few free minutes.”

“Admit it,” Chris said.  “You’re both just a couple of old farts who are technologically challenged.”

“True.”

“Admitted without shame.”

Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #104

Happy Friday!  It's been another exciting week for me!  I hope yours was a good one.

Verfluchte Seelen, the German translation of Phantom Shadows, Immortal Guardians Book 3, was released yesterday!  Woohoo!  I just love the cover, don't you?

And I've already heard from a reader who enjoyed it.  Doubly thrilling!

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

The Romance Reviews declared Darkness Rises a Top Pick and gave it a wonderful 5-star review.  Here's a snippet:

"Dianne Duvall has established herself as a star of the paranormal romance, and this book only solidifies her place in the pantheon. Not only is the love story at the center of this book wonderfully steamy and fulfilling, but the subplots and secondary characters kick this series into a whole new realm that will enchant fans from beginning to end."

Have you seen my contests over at Fresh Fiction?

You can enter to WIN a signed copy of Darkness Dawns, the book that started it all :-) + an awesome Immortal Guardians canvas tote bag and swag HERE.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I've chosen a quote from Darkness Rises that gives you a glimpse of the eldest Immortal Guardians, Seth and David:

Seth nodded.  “They’ll think I’m playing matchmaker.”

And playing favorites.”

“That’s ridiculous.”

“Exactly.  Everyone knows I’m your favorite and yet I remain distressingly unattached.”

Seth grinned.  “Angling for me to set you up on a blind date?”

“Hell, no.”

Have a wonderful weekend!
