It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I thought I would give you another teaser from
A Sorceress of His Own that features the hero and heroine, Dillon and Alyssa:
Releasing his arm, she followed him down the steps and matched his strides—slowed so as not to tire her—as he began traversing the inner bailey.  “I appreciate your concern, my lord, but naught can be done to alter things as they are.  A life’s worth of superstition and distrust cannot be erased in a day.  Or a fortnight.  Or even a year for that matter.”

“Aye, it can change in a day,” he declared gruffly.  “It will change in a day.  I must simply apply myself to discovering the means I shall use to induce the metamorphosis.”

“And a great metamorphosis ’twould be.  Even more so now.”  Alyssa’s lips twitched.  Glancing around to ensure their privacy, she murmured teasingly from the safety of her cowl, “A few hours in my arms and you believe yourself capable of sorcery.  Mayhap wizardry does course through my veins.”

A burst of laughter escaped him, turning heads as far as the stables.  His eyes twinkled merrily.  “A few more such hours and I could work miracles.  What say you, Healer?”

When she made no response, her boldness now lurking behind timidity, he laughed again.  “Would that I could see your face,” he pronounced, lowering his voice.  “’Tis no doubt as flushed as the rest of your beautiful body was when I—”

“Ahem.”  The sound of a man clearing his throat behind them interrupted him.

Dillon closed his eyes and gripped his forehead in a visible attempt to generate patience.

Alyssa bit her lip to keep from laughing.

“Dillon?  A moment, if you will?”

They turned in unison to confront his brother.

I know I keep saying this, but I'm so excited!  I've always loved this story and am so thrilled to bring it to you.  I hope you'll enjoy the new series!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday—A Sorceress of His Own Sneak Peek

Happy Friday!  Only a week and a half to go until the release of A Sorceress of His Own, the first book in my new series The Gifted Ones!  Woohoo!  The first review just came in today.

Cori, from Reading in Pajamas, gave A Sorceress of His Own a 5-star review!
"I loved this book! . . . It's full of danger, intrigue and passion.  Dianne Duvall brought the characters to life and delivered an addicting and exciting new series.  I'm hooked!  Go grab a copy and devour it!"

I also finished going over proofs for Phantom Embrace—my Immortal Guardians novella that will be released in the On the Hunt anthology on August 25th—and mailed them off to my publisher.  That's the last step in the editorial process.  :-)

But the excitement doesn't end there.  My A SORCERESS OF HIS OWN PRE-ORDER EXTRAVAGANZA is still going on.  And I'm happy to say that—with your help—I've passed the 5000 pre-orders milestone.  Hooray!!  As you know, I'm thanking readers by giving away goodies every 500 pre-orders.  So the winner of a $50 Amazon Gift Card is . . . Jeanne Walz   Congratulations!!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I've chosen another snippet from
A Sorceress of His Own that features the hero and heroine, Dillon and Alyssa:
Emitting a sigh of relief, she twisted to place both boots beside his trunk.
Dillon caught a glimpse of dainty bare feet as the hem of her robe shifted.  Strength flowed back into his limbs.  The blood in his veins began to warm.  Grinning, he leaned forward, snagged a handful of the fluid black material, and gave it a tug.
She pivoted, glancing down to see what her robe had caught on, then followed a path from his hand to his face.
Using his hold as leverage, he slowly drew her closer.  “What wear you beneath this robe, Healer?” he questioned in a low, suggestive voice.  Color immediately flooded her cheeks.  “Not much, I would wager.”  He gave the material another yank.  “Why do you not remove it and come to bed?”
Have a wonderful weekend!

A Sorceress of His Own Trailer Reveal

Surprise!  I'm very excited to bring you the Trailer for my upcoming release, A Sorceress of His Own, The Gifted Ones Book 1.

A Sorceress of His Own
The Gifted Ones Book 1
An Amazon #1 Bestseller

Since the day Lord Dillon earned his spurs, rumors of his savagery on the battlefield have preceded him into every room, stilling tongues and sparking fear. Weary of battle, he wishes only to find a woman he can wed who will approach him not with fear, but with the tenderness that has been absent from his life for so long. Yet only the wisewoman seems invariably at ease in his presence. Perhaps because she garners the same fear in others that he does himself.

For seven years, Alyssa has been by Lord Dillon's side, counseling him from the shadows, healing him with her hands, and staving off the worst of his loneliness while his fearsome reputation keeps others at bay. Blessed—or cursed—with gifts that label her a sorceress, she is forced to conceal her youth and the love she harbors for him beneath umbral robes that lead Dillon and his people to believe she is the same aged wisewoman who served his father.

All is revealed, however, and passions flare when an enemy threatens Dillon's life and Alyssa sacrifices everything to save him. When Dillon discovers that the wisewoman is far from elderly, he is instantly entranced. And, as he and Alyssa work together to defeat an enemy bent on destroying them both, Dillon will risk anything—even the wrath of his king—to be with her.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Less than a month to go until the June 2nd release of A Sorceress of His Own.  Yay!  So I thought I would give you another peek into its pages today.  The following is a narrative quote told from the POV of Alyssa, the heroine:
His large, rough, battle-scarred hand gripped hers with an almost desperate need for contact.  Or mayhap reassurance.  One would think that, after seven years of serving him, such a simple touch would no longer speed her pulse or make her breath catch.  Yet, as always, she had to struggle to keep her hand from trembling within his grasp.
I know I say this every week, but I'm so excited about the new series!  I hope you'll enjoy it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Only a little over a month to go until A Sorceress of His Own, the first book in my new series The Gifted Ones, is released.  So I thought I would give you another peek into its pages today.  The following teaser features Alyssa and Dillon, the heroine and hero:
She simply did not know how to deal with him when he acted this way.  Less the fierce, commanding warrior she was accustomed to and more the buoyant young swain who was completely unfamiliar and far too appealing.
He leaned closer, eyes glittering.  “Ahh.  She blushes at compliments.  And so very prettily.”
The heat in her face increased.
“I shall have to compliment you often in order to make up for all the times your cowl hid your rosy cheeks from me in the past,” he murmured playfully.
Alyssa grabbed a pillow, the only weapon available to her, and hit him squarely in his smile.
Dillon laughed in delight.
Have I mentioned that Dillon reminds me of Zach?  I can't say why, because I don't want to spoil it, but . . . those two definitely have some things in common.

Have a wonderful weekend!
