Favorite Quote Friday—Blade of Darkness

Happy Friday!!  This has been yet another exciting week for me. Thanks to all of you who have pre-ordered Blade of Darkness, it became a #1 Amazon Best Seller and hit several Top 100 lists.  So awesome!!

Thank you so much for sharing in my excitement, for your wonderful comments on Facebook and Twitter, and for your emails.  And thank you for pre-ordering Aidan's book!!  I hope you'll enjoy his and Dana's story.  :-)

Here's something else that thrilled me this week:  seeing my book alongside books by Christine Feehan and Stephen King on a Top 100 Most Wished For list on Amazon.  I mentioned this on Facebook, but would like to say it again here...

For the new writers out there who are feeling frustrated or discouraged:  Don't give up. Persevere. When I was wading through rejection letters and struggling to land that first publishing contract, if someone had shown me this and told me one of my books would appear alongside books by two of my all-time favorite authors on a Most Wished For list on Amazon, my jaw would've dropped.  :-)

And for the bloggers out there:  Author's Taproom is hard at work, planning a big blog tour to celebrate Blade of Darkness's upcoming release.  There will be character interviews, Author QandAs, a Dream Cast, excerpts, Top 5 lists, reviews, and more.  If you'd like to join the fun, you can sign up HERE

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Today I have another sneak peek into the pages of Blade of Darkness for you.  It features Aidan and Dana, the hero and heroine:

“Sit down,” she ordered, nodding toward her bed.
He cast it an uncertain look. “I can’t. I’ll stain the covers.”
She stared at him. “You’re kidding, right?” He sported deep wounds that bled profusely and he was concerned about staining her bedding?
“Perhaps if I cleaned up a wee bit—”
“Sit your ass down,” she ordered, pointing at the queen-sized bed.
Eyebrows flying up, he sat so swiftly she almost laughed.
I'm designing some cool Blade of Darkness swag for you.  Can't wait to start giving it away!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Return to the "utterly addictive" (RT Book Reviews) world of New York Times bestselling author Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians.

Dana Pembroke has been able to glimpse the future of those she touches for as long as she can remember. But she never saw Aidan coming. When the tall, dark Celt with the charming grin yet world-weary eyes walks through her door, the future she sees for him is one full of violence, danger, deception... and passion. Because amidst the terrifying battles that unfold in her visions, she also sees herself in Aidan's arms and in his bed. Dana knows she should keep her distance, but the tender moments and laughter they share entice her even as she finds herself thrust into a world of vampires, immortals, and other preternatural beings.

Immortal Guardian Aidan O'Byrne has been hunting and slaying psychotic vampires for nearly three thousand years, so visions of bloody battles don't trouble him. The battles Dana foresees, however, show Aidan's brethren turning against him, so he can't help but feel alarmed. While he spends as much time as he can with Dana, struggling to decipher her dire predictions, Aidan finds himself utterly smitten. Hope rises that he has finally found a woman who can banish the darkness and loneliness that plague him. But when vampires begin targeting Dana and a powerful enemy spawns chaos, will fate grant them time to find happiness together?

"If you love J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and Kresley Cole'sImmortals After Dark, then you need to put Dianne Duvall and herImmortal Guardians books in your reading wheelhouse."

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Today I'm going to give you a first peek into the pages of Blade of Darkness.  It features Aidan and Dana (the hero and heroine):

His beautiful eyes were full of dread and sorrow.

“You’re different,” she whispered.

He nodded. “Yes, I am.”

“You should have told me how different.”

A mirthless laugh escaped him. “When?”

Thank you, everyone who has already pre-ordered Aidan's book!!  I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

The paperback and audiobook will release the same day as the e-book.  I'll post the pre-order links for those as soon as I have them.  The audiobook will be narrated by Kirsten Potter.  Woohoo!!

I meant to tell you earlier that my editor said she loved Aidan and Dana together and thought Blade of Darkness was a great story.  I just didn't have a chance.  :-)  I hope you're as excited about the upcoming release as I am.  I've been wanting to give Aidan a HEA ever since I wrote the "lotto" scene in Night Unbound.

If this is your first time hearing about my Immortal Guardians series, don't worry.  All of the novels and novellas can be read as stand-alones.  You'll know more about the secondary characters if you read them in order, but you won't be lost if Blade of Darkness is the first one you read.  :-)

Have a wonderful week!
