Favorite Quote Friday—The Countdown Begins!

Happy Friday! It still feels weird to say that with so much happening in the world, but some stressful non-writing-related stuff came up this week that made me doubly glad to see the weekend. :-) A lovely thunder-rumbly thunderstorm swept through yesterday. You know how I love dark days. They really get the writing flowing, so I had a lot of fun working on Eliana’s story. We are, however, keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Cristobal in the Gulf of Mexico.

My Broken Dawn Blog Tour starts Monday. I really enjoyed writing posts and answering Q and A's for this one. There will be a playlist, a character interview, favorite quotes, Top 5 lists, and more. Even better, there will be a tour-wide giveaway. If you’re a blogger or Bookstagrammer and want to get in on the fun, you can still sign up through Sunday at Author's Taproom.

"I have been reading Diane Duvall from the start of her Immortals series, and I have to say, this new spin-off in space has just blown me right away!... This is everything that I know and love about the original series and characters, with an injection of a new huge story arc and the potential for so many more awesome new characters and worlds with which to meet and fall in love."

"I read a LOT of books, mostly science fiction, romance, fantasy, and a lot of the classics (who doesn't love Dickens, Austen, Doyle, or Dumas?). The Immortal Guardians, and by extension the Gifted Ones and Aldebarian Alliance, are my favorite series, hands down... I love each and every book she has written!"

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday
For today's favorite quote, I thought I'd give you another sneak peek into the pages of Broken Dawn that features Immortal Guardian Nick and single mom Kayla (the hero and heroine).

"Even though I like to think Becca is still a little girl, she’s an adult now.”

His lips twitched. “I’m not sure that’s going to make it easier for her to accept her mother having a sexual relationship with her next-door neighbor.”

Kayla smiled. “Accepting it is one thing. Seeing it is another. No one likes to imagine their parents having sex.”

Chuckling, he gave her a boyish grin that resurrected the warm and tingly feeling inside her. “I’m convinced a stork left me on my parents’ doorstep.”

She laughed. “Me, too.”

“I’ll try to keep a lid on things whenever she’s around,” he promised.

“I will, too.” She sent him a wry smile. “She’s the only reason I’m not climbing you like a stripper pole right now.”

Groaning, he dropped his head back. “Don’t say things like that when you know I can’t act on them.”

This is such a fun couple. I can't wait for you to meet them.

Have a wonderful weekend!
