Favorite Quote Friday—Broken Dawn

Happy Friday! We had the most wonderful rainy, thunder-rumbly week. I love thunderstorms, but we don't get them very often now. The temperatures even dropped, going from swelteringly hot to cool enough to open the windows and enjoy the breeze. Absolutely perfect writing weather. 😊

For those who have been asking when The Segonian (Aldebarian Alliance Book 2) will release: First, I am super excited that you're eager to read it. Second, I don't have an estimated date yet but plan to release it later this year. I'm writing it now and am really enjoying it. I love that so many of you liked Eliana in The Lasaran and the preview for Book 2. She's a very fun character to write. Like Zach and Bastien, I just never know what she's going to say or do. 😉

Speaking of the Aldebarian Alliance, outstanding reviews continue to roll in for The Lasaran. I've heard from quite a few readers who said they don't usually care for sci-fi romance but tried it anyway because they like my other series. And I was so happy to hear you enjoyed it! Bloggers, too.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday! Only two and a half weeks to go until Broken Dawn releases. Woohoo! I'm so excited!! 

For today's favorite quote, I thought I'd give you another sneak peek into its pages that features Nick and Kayla (the hero and heroine).

Dragging his lips from hers, he buried his face in her neck. His arms tightened around her almost to the point of pain.

Frowning, wanting those lips on hers again, she hugged him back. “Nick?”

“You scared the hell out of me today,” he murmured, his deep voice hoarse.

Her heart turned over. He would only have such a reaction if he cared about her. How had she not realized that before? “I’m sorry.”

He shook his head. “Just let me hold you a minute.”

Smiling, she snuggled against him.

I can't wait for you to meet these two. Fans of the Immortal Guardians series have been asking if they'll see any of the North Carolinian crew in this one. Yes, you will. BUT readers who are new to the series will not be lost if they dive in with Nick and Kayla's story.

The Lasaran, Aldebarian Alliance Book 1, is still rocking the charts on both Amazon and Audible. I finally got to listen to the audiobook (twice) and loved it. Kirsten Potter was awesome as usual. Nick drew back enough to press his forehead to hers and released a ragged breath. “You’re killing me, Kayla.”

“Why?” Was that breathy voice hers?

“Because I desperately want to follow through on this but don’t know how much time we have before Becca and Eliana get here.”

Her eyes widened. “Oh crap.” He might as well have dumped a bucket of ice water on her. “You’re right. It probably wouldn’t be good if we were naked and humping like bunnies when they came in.”

He laughed, some of the intensity leaving his face as he shook his head. “This is going to be fun, isn’t it?”

She smiled. “What is?”

“You and me.”

Excitement skittered through her. “Is there going to be a you and me?”

“If I have anything to say about it? Hell yes.”

Happy Friday! It feels a little weird to open with that, considering what's happening in the world, but I'm always happy to see the weekend. 😊 I hope you and your loved ones are all safe and well.
