Follow My Book Blog Friday

It's been a while since I searched the blogosphere for new-to-me book blogs that intrigue me, so I'm once more participating in Feature and Follow Friday, also known as Follow My Book Blog Friday, hosted by Parajunkee's View and Allison Can Read.

Today they're featuring We Fancy Books and have posed this question:

Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from?

My response is:

1.  Stephen King.  I learn something new about writing every time I read one of his books, so I would love to discuss writing with him.

2.  Alexandra Ivy, one of my favorite romance authors.  I love both her paranormal and historical romances and would love to chat about writing in different sub-genres with her.

3. Gena Showalter, another favorite author.  Her books are so much fun I can't help but think  talking books and writing with her would be the same.

What about you?  What authors would you like to chat with?

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Dianne

  1. Hi Dianne. I would first like to say that I loved your book Darkness Dawns and I cannot wait to read Night Reigns. I can't wait to see what happens with Marcus.

I would also love to chat with Gena Showalter and Alexandra Ivy. I adore both of their books, especially Gena's. Also, Gena is hysterical.

  3. Ooh, hard question! I definitely have to have Gena on my list as well. I need to know how she finds the time to write SO many amazing books. I'd also like to sit down with Dakota Cassidy - she seems like she'd be so much fun. I'd like to talk with Elizabeth Hoyt as well - one of my favorite historical romance authors.

  9. Hi, Danielle! I’m so glad you liked Darkness Dawns and hope you’ll enjoy Night Reigns, too! I thought your author choices were all excellent!

Hi, Sharon! Thanks for stopping by! It’s great to meet another Karen Marie Moning fan!

Hi, Jillian! I would love to ask Gena the same question. One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to write faster. I’m not impressed, so far, with my progress. :-)

Hi, Lauren! Thanks for stopping by! I’m a new follower of your Book Bag! :-)

Hi, Em! Yay! Another Stephen King fan! I LOVE his books!

Hi, Aimee! I totally agree. Whenever a fellow writer asks for writing book recommendations, the first one I mention is Stephen King’s On Writing. He REALLY knows the craft!

Hi, LibrarySnake! Thanks for stopping by! I loved your choices. :-)

Hi, Pedantic Phooka! Thanks for stopping by! Great choices!

  12. Ok I would love to meet Julie Garwwood, Nora Roberts and Nalini Singh; though to tell the truth I would probably be tongue tied to come up with questions if I ever did meet them.

  13. Hi. Happy Belated FF from a new follower. Interesting choices; Stephen King probably makes it into my top 5, but unfortunately not the top 3.

  15. BLHMistress: I think Gena would be so much fun to chat with, too. Loved your choices!

Allison Can Read: Stephen King is the only horror author I read. I just love his writing.

Diane: Julie Garwood is such a talented author. If I’m not mistaken, hers were the first historical romances I ever read and totally hooked me on the genre. :-)

Daniel A Kaine: Thanks for stopping by! I’m a new follower of your blog, too, and suspect there’s a “Dexter” marathon in my future.

Alyssa (Reader’s Refuge): I couldn’t help but notice that JK Rowling is in a lot of FF hoppers’ top picks, too, with good reason. :-) Thanks for stopping by!

  16. Picking just 3 authors is extremly difficult. I have about 10 favoites. I quess it would have to be J.R.Ward, Alexandra Ivy, Kresley Cole. Of course you would have to be there to direct the meeting. Yea, I know thats cheating but that way I get four favs.
