Favorite Quote Friday—Exciting News!

Happy Friday! I haven't posted in quite a while, because I've been busy working on my latest manuscript. I hope your year has gotten off to a good start. :-)

If you're a member of my new Books Group on Facebook, you've already heard the news, but for those who haven't . . . I finished my manuscript! Woohoo!! I'm so excited! Remember the novella I mentioned starting when Blade of Darkness released? The one that grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let me go? The one I've been wanting to write for a while? Well, I dove in with no word count restrictions (I'm self-publishing now) and it ended up coming in at 305 pages. LOL. So I'm going to have to start calling it a novel now.

I've already handed it over to my editor. Editing and proofreading will take about a month and a half. Then I'll hand the finished copy over to Tantor Audio, who will get to work producing the audiobook, which will be narrated by Kirsten Potter. That will take about three months. So the ebook, paperback, and audiobook will all release in July. I'll have a specific date for you soon. :-)

I have to get to work writing the blurb now. Condensing an 80,000-word story into one or two paragraphs is not easy. LOL. As soon as I have a cover and blurb, I'll share them with you. I can't wait!

Just a reminder, I've started a new Books Group over on Facebook. Facebook restricts page reach so much now that only 1% or less of the people who have liked my Author Page are seeing my posts. The group is much better. It's constantly growing, and we've been having a lot of fun in it. Group members also get news before everyone but my Street Team. So I hope you'll join. There has been a lot of speculation lately on who this book will feature, but I'm keeping my lips sealed until I reveal the cover and blurb.

One note: If you join the group, you may need to change your settings if you want to see all of the posts instead of just the highlights. To do so, go to:
  • Settings
  • Notifications
  • On Facebook —> Click "Edit"
  • group Activity —> Click "Edit"
  • Dianne Duvall Books Group —> Select "All Posts"
If you join the group, please make sure you answer the two questions. The sole purpose of the questions is to ensure that only readers who are interested in one or both of my series will join, rather than potential spammers, so we can have lots of fun. :-) I look forward to seeing you there!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday! I'd like to send another big thank you out there to the readers who have left reviews for Blade of Darkness. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I hope you'll enjoy the next book as much. :-) Until then, here's another little taste of Aidan and Dana's story:
Insects hummed.
Frogs croaked.
And every second Dana didn’t tell him to go to hell, Aidan felt a tiny spark of hope.
He motioned to the Taser. “Are you going to use that on me?”
She glanced at the weapon she held. “Would it do any good?”
He shrugged. “It might make you feel better.”
Another nod. “Then I reserve the right to use it on you later. Right now…” Tears welled in her eyes as she swallowed hard once more. “Could you maybe just hold me for a minute?”
Heart aching, he closed the distance between them and pulled her into a tight embrace.
The Taser clattered to the ground as she dropped it and fisted her small hands in the back of his coat.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart.” He pressed a kiss to her hair, then rested his cheek on top of her head. “I’m so sorry.”
Have a wonderful weekend!

Dianne
