Happy Friday! I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. I'm still staying home as much as possible. The plants on my patio have never looked better. 😀 Despite my busier than usual publishing schedule, I'm actually remembering to water them now that I'm home more. Butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds are loving it, so I am, too.

The Lasaran, Aldebarian Alliance Book 1, is still rocking the charts on both Amazon and Audible. I finally got to listen to the audiobook (twice) and loved it. Kirsten Potter was awesome as usual. It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday! The countdown has begun! There's less than a month to go until Broken Dawn releases. Woohoo!! So today I thought I would give you another sneak peek into its pages that features Nick and Kayla (the hero and heroine). I'll preface this by mentioning that Eliana is Nick's hunting partner and Becca is Kayla's teenaged daughter:

Nick drew back enough to press his forehead to hers and released a ragged breath. “You’re killing me, Kayla.”

“Why?” Was that breathy voice hers?

“Because I desperately want to follow through on this but don’t know how much time we have before Becca and Eliana get here.”

Her eyes widened. “Oh crap.” He might as well have dumped a bucket of ice water on her. “You’re right. It probably wouldn’t be good if we were naked and humping like bunnies when they came in.”

He laughed, some of the intensity leaving his face as he shook his head. “This is going to be fun, isn’t it?”

She smiled. “What is?”

“You and me.”

Excitement skittered through her. “Is there going to be a you and me?”

“If I have anything to say about it? Hell yes.”

Happy Friday! It feels a little weird to open with that, considering what's happening in the world, but I'm always happy to see the weekend. 😊 I hope you and your loved ones are all safe and well. It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday! Today I thought I would share another fun excerpt of The Lasaran that features Taelon and Lisa (the hero and heroine) in a quiet moment:

He strode out of the bathroom naked.

Lisa’s eyes widened when she saw him, then swiftly shut.

He grinned as pink once more filled her cheeks.

The mattress dipped beneath his weight as he sat on it.

Her eyes flew open as her side of the mattress tilted up and rolled her toward him.

Taelon rested a hand on her shoulder to steady her, then slipped beneath the covers and lay down.

Silence fell.

“Would you tell me about your planet?” she asked softly as she studied him in the dim light.

He rolled onto his side to face her and eased forward until their heads shared the same pillow. “Of course.” He hoped one day to show it to her. If he succeeded in contacting Ari’k…

Well, he wouldn’t leave Lisa here on this barbaric planet where more men and women like those at the base would hunt her. He just needed to convince her to take a leap of faith and join him when he departed.

To that end, he began to describe the beauty of his world. Lasara, the moons that orbited it, his people, the other populated planets in his solar system. He kept his voice low, his words carefully modulated. And soon her long lashes lowered until they rested upon her cheeks. Her breathing changed, deepening as sleep claimed her.

He gently brushed her soft hair back from her face, tucking it behind one delicate ear.

Even her ears were cute.

But the dark circles beneath her eyes were not. She needed this rest.

Leaning forward, he pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Sleep, Lisa.”

Many of you have absolutely thrilled me by expressing your eagerness to read the next book in the Aldebarian Alliance series and asking when it will release.
