It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday! Today I'm going to give you a first peek into the pages of Cliff's Descent: A Vampire's Tale. This snippet features Cliff and Emma, the hero and heroine:
_____________________

Cliff's gaze held hers, making Emma feel as if she was the most beautiful and most loved woman in the world.

Tonight he even sang, his deep voice joining Nat King Cole’s in professing her unforgettable as they danced beneath the moonlight. It was magical.

He was magical.

“I’m so in love with you,” she murmured.

Smiling, he swiveled slightly and lowered her in a gentle dip. “You’re the love of my life, Emma.”

She had never been happier than in that moment.

I'm so glad I finally get to tell you Cliff and Emma's story. I hope you'll all love these two together as much as I do.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #113

Happy Friday!  How was your week?  I've been working on something very exciting that I'll share with you soon.  I can't wait!  I also handed Rendezvous With Yesterday, The Gifted Ones Book 2, over to my editor.  Woohoo!!  The manuscript came in long, as usual, so I expect I'll have some cutting to do.  But, it's always such a good feeling to finish writing and editing the manuscript myself and move forward with the next step. :-)

A USA Today Bestseller

A Sorceress of His Own, the first book in The Gifted Ones series, has received some great reviews on Amazon this week.  Thank you, Jeanie Welge, Manda, and Debra Allen!  I'm so glad you enjoyed Dillon and Alyssa's story, and I appreciate so much your taking time to write a review!

"One of the best romance novels I've ever read.  I even actually reread it on occasion. It's well written and the plot is just as captivating as the romance."
— Jeanie Welge

"This book was wonderful! Strong, intelligent main characters, a bit of sorcery, romance, adventure, all put together so nicely it leaves you begging for more! If you're in a "book drought", this one will restore your faith in authors! She makes you feel the world instead of simply telling you about it. Kudos! I'll be looking into more of her work!"
— Manda

"I loved this book from the beginning to the end. I always loved healers so I loved Alyssa and Dillon together. It was a powerful, breath taking passionate, mesmerizing story. It captivates you from the beginning to the end. You won't want it to end. I hope there will be many more like this one. I highly recommend this book and give it 10 stars."
— Debra Allen

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Thank you again for making Phantom Embrace a USA Today Bestseller!  If you missed the news, this is the first time Yuri and Cat's novella (previously published in the On the Hunt anthology) has been released as a solo novella.  :-)  And thank you for celebrating its release with me!  You always make book releases so much fun.

I thought I would give you another quote from it today that features the hero and heroine.
Yuri found a love seat on the fringes of the room and claimed it for his own, his heart thumping madly as it always did when Cat seated herself beside him.
“Did your hunt go well?” she asked.
He nodded. Those delightful little tingles shot up his arm where it brushed hers, and he wished for the millionth time that they could truly touch. That he could hold her in his arms and feel her slight weight against him.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #112

Happy Friday!  How was your week?  Mine was very busy, very productive, and very exciting.  I finished my last read-through of Rendezvous With Yesterday, The Gifted Ones Book 2.  Yay!  I always consider it a good sign when I get choked up while reading one of my manuscripts, and secretly hope that when you read it, you'll end up crying, too.  LOL.  But don't worry.  The book isn't a tear jerker.  I laughed a lot while reading it, too.  The heroine in this one would fit right in with my Immortal Guardians family.  And you know how those guys like to razz each other.  The ladies get their fair share of teasing in, too.  ;-)

Guess what!  Phantom Embrace hit the USA Today Bestseller List!  Woohoo!!  When it was originally released in the On the Hunt anthology, I heard from so many readers who enjoyed Yuri and Cat's story and thanked me for giving Yuri a HEA.  I'm glad readers who don't read anthologies now have a chance to pick it up as a solo novella.  :-)

Here are some more reviews that have rolled in:

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  I thought I would give you another quote from Phantom Embrace today.  This scene features Yuri and his best friend, fellow immortal Stanislav, but is told from the heroine's point of view:
Yuri offered him his hand.
Stanislav clasped his arm instead and pulled Yuri into a hug, clapping him on the back.
Yuri grunted as pain flashed across his features.
When Stanislav released him and stepped back, he arched a brow, lips twitching. “That’s for scaring the sh** out of me earlier.”
Yuri huffed a laugh, then grabbed his side again with a grunt. “Don’t make me laugh, damn it. It hurts.”
I'm glad readers had such a strong reaction to these two in Night Unbound. :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  I thought I would give you another quote from Phantom Embrace today.  It features Yuri and Cat:
The amber glow in his eyes intensified. “I love old-fashioned underwear,” he hissed.
She bit her lip. “You don’t prefer the tiny panties and bras women today wear?”
He shook his head. “If you knew how many times, as a boy, I tried to catch a glimpse of underwear like this beneath frothy skirts, you’d know that this is what turns me on.”
She smiled, imaging it

Born with the ability to see spirits, immortal Yuri Sokolov avoids making contact with them, because such has always yielded negative results . . . until lovely Cat Seddon begins haunting his home and his dreams. As a new threat rises against the Immortal Guardians, Yuri disregards all the rules so he can be with Cat, even though the consequences are substantial.
For centuries, Catherine Seddon has been alone. When her brother is forced to join the Immortal Guardians’ ranks, she haunts the primary home of the powerful warriors to keep an eye on him, and soon finds herself captivated by Yuri. The handsome Russian immortal swiftly banishes her loneliness as friendship grows between them and deepens into love. But can two people who can never touch find a future together?
If you're new to the series, don't worry.  All of the novels and novellas can be read as stand-alone stories.  You'll just be more familiar with the secondary characters' backgrounds if you read them in order.  :-)

I'll be celebrating the release with giveaways.  I plan to launch one today over on My Facebook Page.  The prize: a $15 Amazon Gift Card.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Phantom Embrace will release on Tuesday.  So today I'll give you another peek into Yuri's story.
It was nice to be with a woman who, though three hundred years younger than he, was nevertheless nearer his age. A woman around whom he could be himself. A woman who wouldn’t wrinkle her nose and complain about him being old-fashioned.
She made him laugh. Often. Made him happy in a way he hadn’t thought he could be again. A perpetual smile seemed to touch his lips now. Even Dmitry had remarked upon it.
For the first time in a very long time, Yuri didn’t feel as though he only existed to hunt. His life, for centuries, could’ve been summed up as succinctly as the instructions on a shampoo bottle: Instead of wash, rinse, repeat, it had been hunt, sleep, repeat
But now he actually found himself wanting to put off falling asleep and looked forward to waking. Hunting and slaying vampires was no longer the center of his world. Cat was.
At last, he felt like he was living, not just going through the motions. And it felt good.
Have a wonderful weekend!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Phantom Embrace will release on June 28th.  That's the Immortal Guardians novella that tells Yuri and Cat's story (previously released in the On the Hunt anthology.)  So today I thought I would give you a mini excerpt that features the hero and heroine.  :-)
A belt circled his hips, equipped with several sheaths that held blades of various sizes. He unbuckled the belt and set it on a dresser behind him. “In all of the times you came to my room,” he said, his hands going to the button on his pants, “did you ever peek at me while I was in the shower?”
She shook her head, her gaze fastening on his hands.
“Did you want to?”
She nodded as he unbuttoned the button and drew down the zipper.
“Shall I turn the lights on then, or leave it dark?”
“Lights on,” was all she could squeeze out.
Taking two steps backward, he reached over and flipped a switch.
I'll be spending this weekend with Robert and Bethany, the hero and heroine of Rendezvous With Yesterday.  (Those two always make me laugh.)  :-)  I hope you'll have a great weekend, too!

Favorite Quote Friday #108—Phantom Embrace

Happy Friday!  The summer heat has kicked in fully here and driven away the thunderstorms, so we're finally drying out after two or three weeks of rain and flooding.  While avoiding the blinding sun (you know I prefer cloudy days) and triple-digit Feels Like temperatures, I've been getting a lot of work done on Rendezvous With Yesterday, The Gifted Ones Book 2.  I really love Robert and Bethany's story, and have laughed out loud several times while reading through it.  I hope you will, too.  :-)

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Less than two weeks to go until the June 28th release of my Immortal Guardians novella Phantom Embrace.  It tells the story of Yuri and Cat, and was previously released in the On the Hunt anthology.  Today, I thought I would give you another peek into its pages by sharing a snippet from a scene that features Yuri and fellow immortal Marcus (hero of Night Reigns).
“So,” Marcus said after a pause, “have you found it yet?”
“Found what?” Yuri asked absently, his mind a maelstrom.
“The catch.  The downside to speaking with her.”
Yuri responded with a slow nod.
“What is it?” Marcus asked curiously.
Yuri tried and failed to force a smile.  “I’m falling in love with her.”
Marcus swore.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #107

Happy Friday!  I can't believe it's June already!  The summer is already flying by far too quickly.  :-)

Yesterday was my Indie Anniversary.  :-)  One year ago on June 2nd, I released my first self-published novel—A Sorceress of His Own, The Gifted Ones Book 1—becoming both an author and a publisher.  And I'm so glad I did!   Many of you have probably seen me say I consider A Sorceress of His Own the book that started it all for me, because it inspired me to write my Immortal Guardians series.   So it was such a thrill to finally hold a copy (and such a pretty copy, too) in my hands.  I will be indie publishing all of my novels from this point on.  Very exciting!!  Thank you so much for supporting me while I've taken this big step! You're the best!!!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Only three and a half weeks to go until the release of Phantom Embrace, Cat and Yuri's story.  So I thought today I would give you a narrative quote from it.
At last, he felt like he was living, not just going through the motions. And it felt good.
He felt good. He felt young again.
And Yuri suspected—hoped—Cat felt the same way.
If the centuries had seemed to pass slowly for Yuri, what the hell had it been like for Cat? At least Yuri had had his Seconds, Stanislav, and fellow immortals to take the edge off his loneliness. Hobbies to occupy his hands. Books to occupy his mind. Cat had had nothing. No books . . . and she so loved to read. No one to talk to. No one to even acknowledge her presence.
It broke his heart to think of it. So he made her laugh whenever he could and delighted in every smile he coaxed forth.
Have a wonderful weekend!
