Favorite Quote Friday #154

Happy Black Friday!  I hope those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving had a nice holiday!  :-)

Instead of shopping 'til I drop this weekend, I'll be editing Phantom Embrace, my Immortal Guardians novella for the On the Hunt anthology (pictured on the left) and Shadows Strike, Immortal Guardians Book 6 (pictured on the right).  I'm enjoying both stories so far and can't wait for you to read them!  :-)

As the cold weather rolls in, toast your toes in front of a crackling fire and warm up your holiday season with French Immortal Guardian Étienne d'Alençon.  I'm giving away a Darkness Rises Audiobook over at Fresh Fiction!  Enter to WIN and find out why RT Book Reviews nominated Darkness Rises for the RT Reviewers' Choice Award for Best Vampire Romance!  You can enter HERE.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Today I thought I would give you a brief excerpt of Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5.  It features the hero and heroine, Zach and Lisette, and is told from Zach's point of view.
Zach raised a hand to her face, slid his fingers over her soft, soft skin.
Her breath caught.
Dipping his head, he pressed his lips to hers.
Electric.
His heart leapt to life inside his chest, ramming against his ribcage.
Lisette’s heart began to beat as fast as his.
Tilting his head, he increased the pressure, deepened the contact, and drew his tongue across her lips.  She tasted incredible.  Even better than she had in the dream.
Heat rushed through him when she parted her lips and touched her tongue to his.  Looping an arm around her waist, he drew her closer.  Every muscle tightened with need as she rose onto her toes and leaned into him.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #153

Happy Friday!!  I had a fun and productive week, editing Phantom Embrace, my Immortal Guardians novella that will appear in the On the Hunt anthology.  I'll read through it one more time, then will set it aside for a bit to begin editing Shadows Strike, Immortal Guardians Book 6.  I can't wait to read through Ethan's story and see how much I've forgotten.  :-D

I also mailed some goodies to contest winners from blog hops, Facebook Flash Giveaways, Fresh Fiction giveaways, etc.  Yay!!  To the winners:  I hope you'll enjoy them!

As November ushers in cooler temperatures, curl up before the fire with dark and powerful Immortal Guardians!  I'm giving away an autographed copy of Phantom Shadows + Immortal Guardians swag over at Fresh Fiction!  If you like alpha males and strong heroines, danger mixed with humor, and action interspersed with steamy romance, this book is for you!  You can enter HERE.

Just a reminder:  Night Unbound has been nominated for Paranormal Cravings' Readers Choice Award for Best Paranormal Romance 2014!!  If you enjoyed Zach and Lisette's story and have a minute, I'd love it if you'd vote.  You can do so HERE.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already voted!  It means so much to me!!

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Since I'm giving away a copy of Phantom Shadows—Immortal Guardians Book 3 (Bastien and Melanie's story)—this month, I thought I'd give you a glimpse of Bastien in my latest release, Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5.  Lisette is the heroine of Night Unbound and, in this scene, is speaking to Bastien.
“Give Melanie my love.”
He winked.  “I’ll be too busy giving her mine.”
I love Bastien and Melanie together.  I'm so glad I'm writing a series so I can keep their story going.  :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Favorite Quote Friday #152

Happy Friday!  I have a lot of exciting news to share with you today!

First:  I finished the first draft of Immortal Guardians Book 6.  Woohoo!!  It will feature Ethan as hero and will be entitled Shadows Strike.  I also finished the first draft of an Immortal Guardians novella that will appear in the On the Hunt anthology, alongside stories by Alexandra Ivy, Rebecca Zanetti, and Hannah Jayne.  The title of my novella will be "Phantom Embrace."  I'm not ready to say who the hero and heroine of that one is yet.  ;-)

Now . . . I begin editing.  I actually like this part, though I know some authors abhor it.  I enjoy reading back through manuscripts for the first time.  There's always something in there that I forgot I wrote.  :-D  Shadows Strike came in long (most of my manuscripts do), so I'm going to try to cut about 30 pages before submitting it.  That's always a challenge.  But I think I cut 30 pages from Night Unbound, too, so I know I can do it.  :-)

And speaking of Night Unbound . . .

Awesome news!  Night Unbound has been nominated for Paranormal Cravings' Readers Choice Award for Best Paranormal Romance 2014!!  If you enjoyed Zach and Lisette's story and have a minute, I'd love it if you'd vote.  You can do so HERE.  A huge thank you to those of you who have already voted.  It means so much to me!!

Looks like there's still time to vote in BTS Book Reviews' Red Carpet Awards as well.  Darkness Rises has been nominated for Best Paranormal Romance.  Again, a huge thank you to all of you who have already voted!  I appreciate your support so much!!  If you haven't voted and would like to, you can do so HERE.  There are eight categories in this one.  :-)

I also passed the 7, 000 Likes mark on my Facebook Page.  Yay!  I'll likely celebrate with a giveaway later today or this weekend, so drop by and enter for a chance to WIN!

While you're there, you may want to click on "Get Notifications" in the "Like" menu.  Facebook has been steadily reducing the number of fans who can see posts from the pages they've liked.  According to the latest numbers I've read, posts on most pages reach less than 5% of the people who have liked the page unless the page owner pays to promote every post (something most page owners can't afford to do).  I don't want you to miss out on giveaways and sneak peeks and some of the other fun stuff that goes on over there.  And, from what I understand, selecting "Get Notifications" will help us stay connected and enable you to keep seeing my posts.  :-)

Rave reviews for Night Unbound are still rolling in.  Here are some snippets from two of the latest.  :-)

Rating:  A+

"When I want to read about an Alpha hero that will do anything for his heroine...Zach is the kind of character I'm thinking about. Wow...I loved him!"

"Everything about this book was so freaking good. I highly recommend both the series and this book. I think you could probably read this book if you haven't read the rest of the series, but I think you should read them all. It's truly one of the best paranormal series out there!"

You can read the full review HERE.

Rating:  5 Bites

"I love this series. I mean, I really do. For realz! I have said it before and I’ll say it again and not give a f*** that I’m repeating myself, it has everything I love in a book. Humor, paranormal elements, sexy steaminess, action, multiple POVs, twisty plot, sexy steaminess (did I say that already?), a wonderful cast of characters and a great world."

This reviewer also provided some of her favorite quotes from the book.  :-)  You can read the full review HERE.

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  Today I thought I'd give you another quote from Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5.  This one features Lisette (the heroine) and Tracy (Lisette's Second or human guard).  The words in italics are spoken telepathically.
Lisette wrapped an arm around Tracy’s shoulders as they followed the others to the long dining table.  I can’t believe you did that.
Tracy sighed and leaned into her.  How red is my face?
Remember that big baboon butt we saw on the news a few weeks ago?

Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!

Favorite Quote Friday #151

Happy Friday!  I have quite a bit to share with you today!

Darkness Rises has been nominated for the Reader's Choice Award for Best Paranormal in BTS Book Reviews' Red Carpet Book Awards!  Woohoo!!  As the title indicates, readers choose the winners.  So, if you enjoyed Étienne and Krysta's story, I'd love it if you'd vote!  And, if you're a Laurann Dohner fan, Mating Brand has been nominated for Best Erotic!  You can vote and check out all of the nominees HERE.

I'm almost finished with the first draft of Immortal Guardians Book 6.  Yay!  This time next week I should be ready to start editing.  I know many writers find editing tedious, but to me it's always fun to read back through the story for the first time.  :-)

It's time once more for Favorite Quote Friday!  For today's selection, I thought I'd give you a narrative quote from Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5, that is told from Lisette's (the heroine's) point of view:

She could hear Zach’s heart pounding in his chest, nearly drowned out by her own heart’s attempts to burst from her breast.  Did he feel the same thing she did?  That sort of nervous, yet delicious excitement that she hadn’t felt since she was a girl embroiled in her first infatuation?  It had been so long, she had almost forgotten how wonderful it was.  How alive it made her feel.  How . . . happy?
Have a wonderful weekend!
